Inspired by the myth surrounding the white buffalo of Montana: Big Medicine. Fred always equated the white buffalo with his father. White animals were metaphors for many of his life's inspirations.
Northwest artist and graphic design instructor, taught at Burnley School of Professional Art & Art Institute of Seattle from 1960 - 2010. His work was shown in many Northwest galleries throughout his career.
Griffin visited the white buffalo theme off and on for over 30 years. "The original inspiration came after seeing the big fellow, called Big Medicine, in a Montana Museum."
